About Dr. Qizhi Gao and Bigu Qigong
Dr. Qizhi Gao, D.O.M., Dipl. OM, as a Chinese Medicine practitioner and educator, has been practicing Traditional Chinese Medicine since 1980 and has over 40 years’ experience as a Qigong Practitioner and Instructor. He is licensed by the state of New Mexico as a Doctor of Oriental Medicine and by the state of Kansas as an acupuncturist.
In 1996, Dr. Gao taught a Qigong instructor program, which included both classic and modern Qigong excises for the purpose of prevention and treatment of diseases. At the end of the program, one student asked him: “Dr. Gao, we learned so much on Qigong in this class from common disease to cancer. But we didn’t learn how to help weight problem, which over 50% people are overweight in this country.” So he decided to share Bigu Qigong.
He then conducted the first study with 12 people. The study result was a really encouraging, as he expected.”…(Twelve Subjects) in the two-week study, there was a significant mean weight loss of 11.2 pounds (5.06 kg) (p<. 0001); mean weight loss per day was 0.9 pounds (0.41 kg)” — Qigong and Weight Loss: Qi as a food source, Presented at the Third World Conference on Medical Qigong, Beijing, China, 1996.
To date, thousands of people have learned the practice of Bigu Qigong through his class and the minimum average weight lose is 6 lbs for a group over the two week period. Last few years, he started to train instructors to meet the demand. In the instructor class students keep asking him to write a book to share Bigu Qigong.
In 2017, Dr. Gao wrote and released a book called Breathing Yourself Thin to help introduce people to the concepts of Bigu Qigong.
Additionally, Dr. Gao developed and launched a comprehensive program to teach anyone Bigu Qigong, available as a online course where Dr. Gao and qualified instructors will provide feedback and direction.

I can’t loose any weight even I eat less and only healthy diet.
Eating more or less, healthy diet or unhealthy diet, which will affect your weight management. But the ability to process the food by your internal organs plays a very important role. You may find that you, your brothers, sisters and other family members eat same food, someone eat less, still gain weight, but someone not, even eat more. Bigu Qigong does not only help you to control your appetite but also improve your internal organ’s function.
I’ve tried everything, lost weight then gain back quicker and even more than I lost, frustrating!!!
To maintain good health is a lifelong goal. So is keeping an optimal weight. Physical exercises help weight management. However, it may get opposite result from your goal if you make yourself too exhaust. Hormone imbalance is often be blamed for weight issue. Fatigue is one of main reason to cause hormone imbalance. Your weight will be much easier to control if you know how to balance exercise, work, stress and relaxation. Bigu Qigong will help you for the balance.
